What to Expect
This expedition is suited to individuals and couples who enjoy remote areas adventure travel combined with visits to world heritage archaeological and geological sites. We encourage all participants to join in our photography workshops, desert survival training, canyoning, historical interpretation and study of Middle East geo-political history.
As a member of a small expedition travelling across Jordan during the months of August and September, the most popular travel period, you will experience true desert conditions. Temperatures in urban areas can range between 30-35 centigrade, with open desert temperatures exceeding 35 centigrade between the hours of 11am - 3pm. Come and experience similar living conditions to those faced by Gertrude Bell and Lawrence of Arabia during their legendary travels of the early 20th century.
Shackleton Legacy will organise all hotels, in-country transfers and desert guiding services for the duration of the expedition. All you have to do is organise your own flight and meet us in the capital of Jordan, Amman. For more information please check out our travel itinerary.
Upon applying to join the expedition, we will send you a comprehensive list of personal items you will be required to bring to Jordan. These items are for your safety, comfort and pleasure.
